This is a vintage Anri carved wood bottle stopper. This rare piece features a dog with a sign on his feet that reads Cin Cin. It is articulated, movable by the dogs tail on the back, when pressed down the dog raises his front legs to reveal the sign. A unique piece to add to your collection.
The Anri company was founded in 1912 by Josef Anton Riffeser. They made these bottle stoppers from 1912 to the mid 1960's. The earlier pieces were hand carved by people in the Groeden Mountain area in Italy. They were modeled after people that they knew.
It is in good vintage condition. There is some light patina to the paper and the cork has been carved/ shaped. The cork can be replaced with a new one if desired.
It measures approximately 3 1/2" long, and 2 1/4" deep, head to tail.
