This is an antique carved wood mortar. Would look great in a rustic primitive setting. It is hand carved with lots of texture. From the style and shape we are guessing that it originated in Africa.
We are not able to place an exact date on this piece, but it has amazing patina that only comes with a great deal of age.
The mortar is in good condition with some checking/ splitting. Please look over all pictures.
It measures approximately 7 1/4" tall, and has a 5 3/4" opening diameter.
