This is an antique cigar humidor jar made of flint glass. It is marked on the bottom with 1st District ILL Factory No. 3. A wonderful addition to your apothecary, general store, or tobacciana collection. It features a paneled body. The interior lid has a hollow ball lid that was used to hold moist cotton to keep the cigars fresh. The glass has a slight purple tint, we have done our best to protect it from the sun.
It is in good vintage condition. There are fleabites and small chips around the rim of the jar and lid that are normal for the intended use and age of the piece. There are bubbles in the glass. There are scuff scratches on the base.
It measures approximately 5 1/8" tall, 7 1/4" tall with lid, and 5 1/4" opening diameter.
