Antique Pleuser & Henger MFG Co ST Louis MO Sad Iron with detachable wood handle

This is a antique Pleuser & Henger MFG Co, ST. Louis MO Sad Iron with detachable wood handle. It is difficult to read the makers mark, so I'm guessing based on what I can make out. It features a two part construction with a cast iron base and metal cover with wood handle. The cover is removed by sliding the wood knob to the left and to the right to lock it on to the base. These old flat irons make wonderful rustic, country, primitive, farmhouse decor. They are very useful as paper weights, and door stops.

The iron is in good condition. It has rust, patina, wear to the finish, scratches, scuffs, pitting. Please look over pictures.
It measures approximately 6 1/2" long, 3 1/8" wide, and 4 1/2" tall.
