Vintage Conger AT&SF Railroad Lantern Co
This is a Vintage Conger Railroad Battery Lantern. These were widely produced for railroad use in the Mid-20th Century. This one is stamped on the side seam with AT&SF, which stands for the Atchison,Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. It was Manufactured by and is marked with the Conger Lantern Company of Portland, Oregon Patent No. 2653218. It was made in 1940. The Lantern uses two small round incandescent bulbs in the bottom, there is a spare on the underside of the lid. It is powered by a 6 Volt battery (not included). Great for those who love rustic, primitive, cabin, farmhouse decor.
It measures approximately 6.5'' tall, 10 3/4" tall with handle, 4'' base diameter. It is in good vintage condition with some spots of light surface rust, patina and some light cracking to the rubber on the handle. Please see pictures for detail.
